Dr. Alier. M. Ghai came to Rumbek University of Science and Technology (RUST) in 2015 after he taught at Catholic University of South Sudan. As part of his earnest efforts to impart knowledge in academia, he continued with lectures at College of Economic and Social Studies, in particular, Department of Economics in Rumbek University of Science and Technology. His contributions, commitment in teaching and involvement in research supervision of undergraduate students has placed RUST in a competitive and towering position as premier center for academic excellence among five public Universities. Before he received his PhD, he served as acting Head of Department of Economics (HoD), College of Economics and Social Studies, Executive Director in the office of the Vice Chancellor, and by that virtue; he became active member of Senate Board of Rumbek University of Science and Technology. Dr. Alier holds PhD in Economics with concentration in Finance from University of International Business and Economics UIBE, Beijing, China on a commencement held on June 18/2021. He also holds MBA (Finance and Banking Option) from Kampala International University, Kampala, Uganda. Bachelor of Business Administration from Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, Malaysia, an affiliate of Graffins College, Nairobi, Kenya after he successfully completed Advance Diploma and Diploma in Business Management from Association of Business Executives ABEUK, at Tracom College, Nakuru, Kenya. ABEUK is a prominent professional association with network of international accreditation and affiliation to various institutions of higher learning. His contemporary research areas of interest include Microfinance, Finance, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics and Banking. Some of his recent publications can be found in International Journal of Science and Business and European Journal of Business and Management.
